A Diary of Small Things

In everyone's life, even in the darkest places, there is something that brings them happiness. My name is Cliff Cumber, and this is my attempt to find those moments and catalog them day-by-day with a photo, a drawing, a line or two.

If you feel inspired, I hope you'll join me. One moment of joy, every day.

Perhaps inspired by Scooby Doo and the rest of the Mystery Gang, my daughter and son have taken to constructing cunning traps for members of the family.

This is my daughter wearing a disguise with which to fool the Uncles as they arrive from New York. The trap consisted of a sheet, with my son on one end and daughter on the other, both heavily disguised.

The lure was a couple of stuffed animals on a nearby couch. As the Uncles came in, the sheet was pulled tight, tripping one of the Uncles into falling on the couch.

My job was to throw a net across him. well, a blanket.

You know, he would have gotten away with it too, if not for my meddling kids.
