A Diary of Small Things

In everyone's life, even in the darkest places, there is something that brings them happiness. My name is Cliff Cumber, and this is my attempt to find those moments and catalog them day-by-day with a photo, a drawing, a line or two.

If you feel inspired, I hope you'll join me. One moment of joy, every day.

Today I went back into London and once again, very little had changed. This is a picture up the escalators of the Tottenham Court Road stop. It is exactly the same as the thousands of other times I’ve ridden it. I knew exactly where to go when I got off the escalators. I hadn’t forgotten which exit I needed to get most quickly to Great Russell Street and the British Museum.

This filled me with unspeakable happiness. In 10 years, 20 years, when I take my children to these places to show them, I will remember then. Some things will stay with you no matter how old you get.
